Becky Packard: attended Seattle Pacific University,and played basketball for the Lady Falcons where she was a 4 year starting Point Guard,and now currently has been coaching girls youth basketball for 8 years with the St.Annes CYO program in Discovery Bay, Ca.
Casey Wegenke: played 2 years at the Junior College level before transferring to the University of Wyoming where she played for 2 years.Coach Wegenke currently coaches youth basketball in Brentwood,Ca. We welcome Coach Packard and Coach Wegenke and their experience to the Warrior Elite family
Chris Clingshoff: has been enthusiastically coaching in the Byron/Discovery Bay, CA area for the last 2 years. He coaches at Excelsior Middle School and for the St. Anne's CYO program. He recently completed his first season as an AAU Assistant Coach with both the Warrior Elite and Stockton Mavericks programs. He played 2 years Junior College Basketball at Alameda College before transferring to St. Mary's College of Moraga.
Rob Ocon: Rob Ocon- (NCAA CERTIFIED) is Co-founder of the Warrior Elite program which was started in 2008. Coach Ocon has coached at Excelsior Middle School in Byron, Ca. for 4 years, also coached 2 years at Liberty High School in Brentwood, Ca. at the Junior Varsity level, has coached youth basketball in East Contra Costa County for 7 years, a former Women's Varsity Assistant Coach for St. Mary's High School in Stockton, and currently is the Junior Varsity Coach at Heritage High School in Brentwood, Ca
Tanya Wannomae: Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Tanya Wannomae played 4 years for her high school Varsity basketball and volleyball teams. Following high school, she enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years before moving to Discovery Bay, CA with her husband Daryl. Currently, Tanya is a pre-nursing student at Los Medanos College and plans to transfer to CSU-East Bay to achieve her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. She also coaches for the St. Anne’s CYO basketball program and implements a “Tough love” approach. Her ultimate goal is to mentor and positively influence young girls to respect themselves and others, on and off the court.
Lee Welsh has been a basketball enthusiast all of his life. He has been coaching along side Tanya Wannomae for the St. Anne's 3rd grade CYO team and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hopes to continue. Away from basketball he trains & competes under one of Northern California's premiere Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy's, mountain bike riding, hiking & rock climbing.
David Bohannon has been a coaching multiple girls teams for St Anne CYO basketball for 7 years, has been the head coach for 3 years at Excelsior Middle School, has been an assistance coach for the Stockton Mavericks AAU program for last 3 years and has coached youth soccer for 8 years. Coaching is a passion for David whether it’s on the basketball court or the soccer field.
Ken Luther- Coach Luther was a former Head Coach for Carondelet High School in Concord, Ca. at the Freshman level, has coached with the Warrior Elite program for 4 years at the Varsity level and currently is the Junior Varsity Head Coach for Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, Ca.
Marrissa Ocon- Is a former Warrior Elite player who was apart of the program from the day the program was born in 2008.
Coach Marrissa attended St. Mary's High School in Stockton and played 2 years at the Varsity level and was apart of 2 State Championship teams in 2010 and 2011.
After graduation played 2 years at Las Positas College in Livermore, Ca., a current Assistant Coach at Las Positas College for Women's basketball, and will be attending Sac State- Spring 2014.
Mark Hurtado- Coach Hurtado is the current Head Coach for Women's Basketball at Deer Valley High School in Antioch, Ca. Coach Hurtado has proven to be one of the best coaches in the BVAL league.
The Lady Wolverines have won league titles, made playoffs and
appeared in a Nor Cal Div.1 Championship under Coach Hurtado.
We welcome him back for his 2nd year as a Warrior Elite coach.
Coach Schroer- played point guard at St. Olaf’s College (Div. III) in Minnesota. He coached for four years at Mt. Eden High School at the Freshman Boys’ Level while also serving as the Varsity Boys’ Assistant Coach. He has spent the last several years coaching his children’s youth sports teams in Brentwood, including 6th grade girls’ AAU basketball and 5th grade boys’ CYO basketball. Dave loves to coach because he loves to see the players develop individually and experience the joy of being part of a team.
Julie Gildersleeves- Coach Julie played Varsity basketball Soph-Senior year of High School. She coached girls basketball during the Spring/Summer months throughout high school. Her career was very important to her so she chose to focus on her career goals in college but played Intramural basketball at Oregon State University. After graduating from OSU, she continued playing basketball for the Portland City league. She took some time off while her children were little and she and her family moved from Oregon to California. Julie has been involved in the community and was appointed and served on the City of Brentwood Planning Commission for four years. She is in her third year of coaching Frosh girls basketball at Heritage High school. Julie continues to share her passion for basketball while coaching AAU and at the high school level.
